Turn all the lights out,
with the stars overhead,
get out of the house
and run with your friends...
To the nearest house
where you can hear the music blare:
Dance to the insane rythhms
that pull you through the air.
Surprises lurk in every corner;
Your companions all the while...
Are with you at all times and as they sing,
They can always make you smile.
Police sirens - hear them?
In the middle of this song...
They're coming down this street!
Something is terribly wrong...
In all the excitement,
you silnk to the back porch.
Your friends for whatever reason remain,
and you don't want to stay anymore.
You can hear the authorities
pull into the front driveway,
and then the slamming of doors,
but you can't hear what they say...
Your friend drops beside you,
his face the color scarlet.
He asks you breathlessly,
"Are you having fun yet?"
"Not at all!" You cry,
pushing him aside,
"I'm getting the hell out of here!"
and you dial your phone to get a ride.
"Whatever!" he calls after you,
as you hit the ground outside...
Racing down the street,
the others idiotically reside.
The very next morning
that house is on the news:
There are reporters here and there,
the busy television crews...
The reporter is saying,
"You can only take in so much!"
she goes on the explain,
"We did find the drugs..."
"Drugs? At that party?"
You think, "But... I was there!
I guess it might have explained the nicer
feel of the night air...
I didn't think they were into that.
How stupid can someone be?
I'm just glad I got myself out of there...
That's just not for me."

Dude!
Love your writing! Excellent as usual!
Love from your flurry!

4th stanza: here them? Should be hear. Also, 8th stanza, hell has two l's. Other than those minor spelling errors, this is another classic, well-rhymed Demmy-style poem. The anti-drug twist at the end was very well done. From the description I expected something much different, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Keep writing!
