he walked around it
as she waited anxiously
his face held no sense
of the thoughts behind the eyes.
he looked into the door,
checked inside and out
played with knobs and switches
then walked around it again.
she danced from foot to foot,
biting her lower lip unknowingly.
She had taken a huge leap,
faith be damned this was bigger,
this was a leap of love.
A leap of trying to please
one who would not be
easily pleased.
He finally looked at her
their eyes locking over
the hood and husband and wife
shared a moment strangely
intimate and almost sensual.
He spoke one word,
just one but for her she knew
she had won his approval,
with the single word:
SHINY!
