with mother of pearl
we await our angel guide.
She ushers us down
a path of fine pink sand
lapped by azure waves.
"You're just in time for the King's feast!"
she exclaims.
A dinner table stretches
beyond the horizon,
dressed with hand embroidered cloth,
Wildflowers of every season with candles
arranged in crystal vases add a festive touch.
Woven napkin,
finest china,
golden goblet and flatware
set for each guest.
Air, fragrant with soulful spices
floods our senses.
I sob openly as my Mom walks toward me.
Jesus greets me as though I am his only guest.
Our Host beckons
winged waiters
to serve His feast.
Exotic dishes
and comfort foods
shared family style.
Each platter at perfect temperature,
always full.
Guests adorned in joyous hues,
their hearts light with laughter and love.
Home tours for new arrivals
follow the divine feast.
Each suits
its intended dweller,
built by the Master's hands.
Stained glass dove in circular frame
adorns my front door,
casts rainbow arcs
upon generous front porch.
Two cherry rocking chairs
invite intimate conversation.
Hearth laid with smooth beach stones
crackles warm welcome.
Plush sofas surround
beveled glass table
with driftwood base;
room glows in celestial peace.
Prussian blue ceiling
stippled with stars,
layers of nimbus down
invite eternal rest.
Mortgage for my new celestial home?
Already paid in full.

Smooth, very smooth.
I admire the positivity.
The hope.
That you can put your faith in promise of something better.
Nice.
Thank you for entering this into my contest.

What a lovely heaven you have painted with your lovely words.
KUDOS!
Yes, Jesus did indeed die so that we could live with him forever in paradise. -
I love the ending. The question and answer ... I could not help but smile. The back ground did not stop me from reading but it was a bit distracting. Lovely write though, thank you for entering.

Lovely. The Spirit invites at the door, the covenant rainbow glows, loved "air fragrant with spices."
Beautiful Living room. Inviting "silken down" and "rest."
Wonderful. to contemplate "daily feast with the King."
Excellent conclusion, all paid in full by One who loves us perfectly, has set the table, and prays we will choose to come and fill our hunger. Beautiful.
