This is the wrong end of all that ends well,
and you walked here through vilely scripted ways.
No one will save you. This is Villain Hell,
the fosse where all the fallen false ones fell
as you did: headlong into leaden space.
This is the wrong end of all that ends well.
Poor roasting rot-dog, soaking up the smell
of grime-glazed dark robes smoldering in your face--
no one will save you. This is Villain Hell,
where writhing wretches seek to briefly quell
their embers in some fellow sinner's blaze.
This is the wrong end of all that ends well.
Perhaps you could attempt some summoning spell
and have your minions swarm you from this place.
No one will save you. This is Villain Hell,
the bulk of your tale that none care to tell
beyond a standard-issue ending phrase;
this is the wrong end of all that ends well--
no one will save you. This is Villain Hell.
Author notes
A little experiment with the villanelle form. Forgive the bad pun.
What did you think? Anything I can improve on?

I think I've been there. Another good one - happy trails

I don't think it's such an awful pun
I really enjoyed this piece, great flow to it, eloquently written. And I love your line "This is the wrong end of all that ends well." Genius. Great piece.

Everyone seems to think that the line you pointed out is great.

I'm glad you enjoyed this. Well, my puns work better in my poetry than in my jokes.
