The first friend I met
here at AP;
a gifted woman
named Kelle Marie.
I read, "Overdose,"
a poem that she wrote.
With tears in my eyes
and a lump in my throat.
I commented her,
"I'm going through this too."
She replied back,
"I care about you."
A friendship began
because of our loss.
I think our boys asked God
to let our paths cross.
Abuse, addiction, loss;
she's been through such pain.
With faith as her weapon,
she broke free from those chains.
Now she's a beacon
whose light reaches far.
It'll break through the dark
where ever you are.
At night, she's the brightest
star that you see.
She'll say, "No, it's God's
light shining through me."

Roses are red,
and there is no monopoly on sorrow.
The ones that have stumbled together yesterday,
will walk together tomorrow.

OH WOW SO BEAUTIFUL
I'm in shock. I just came to your page to check out your newest poem and I'm in tears that you wrote this for me. It is so very beautiful and yes we do both understand each others pain. You are such a talented poetess. Your ryhme, rythem and flow is flawless not to mention the imagery and deep emotions that you express here in your poem.
Cindy you need to know that you have also helped me very much. Unfortunately we were joined together by such tragedy but together and with love, understanding, respect and encouragement we will process through just one day, or just one minute at a time. Oh how I wished you could have made the contest On.Fire.4.Christ through for me.
I will cherish this poem forever. I will print it so I can read it when I'm feeling down. You gave me so much uplifting encouragement in this poem and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I so needed this right now. I too have been missing my son a lot this week...
Wishing You Many Blessings
Much Love Always,
Kelle Marie
