In the dead darkness of the night
I let my mind travel far and wide
To the day we sat kissing under the moonlight
For you it was just another day
Another day in your life
But I had a lot to hear, a lot to say
You didn't see
The tears that fell from my eyes
A witness of the painful story
I was a dead parched soul until I met you
Battling the nightmares and hurt from the past
I lived my life through
It always came back to me
Even when I prayed to God a thousand times
I could never forgive the guilty
Love was a fairy tale story
Till the day I met you
I realized that love did exist truly
When you hold me tight my heart knows you are there
Kissing away every morsel of pain from the past
You are my dream, an answer to my prayer
I love you today
A million times more than I have
Loved you yesterday
When you hold me in your arms I know
Life will never be the same again
Like it was a few years ago
This is a note to you
For God only knows
That I have loved you true
Every battle I fought
And the way I stood strong
The pain had made me distraught
That's when I found you
From your strength is my strength
In the virtue of love I grew
You made me much stronger
More comely and gentle
And you made me grow wiser
I have forgotten the times
The times when I was in your arms
So I dedicate my words to you
Smeared by my tears sometimes
A note of thanks for the love
For the million dreams that I will always treasure
It's a note to say that no matter what
I WILL LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER

"Love conquers all" so the saying goes and your poem gives testimonial to that. It sounds like you've been through much adversity and have come through it all to find that happiness is definatly possible.

an odd poem. Since I am not overly fond of love poems, as a rule, I won't comment on that angle. The biggest problem with this is that it's too long, and too repetitive. It's certainly an emotional journey, and there's no doubt that it's sincerely written, and sincerely felt. I don't even normally click on the featured poems any more, but I clicked on this one by accident, so felt I had to leave a comment since you obviously spent points to feature it. It sounds as though life has begun to treat you better after a long period of reversals and disappointments, and that's certainly a good thing.
