The house of happiness

It was as if misery found happiness
While war found peace
I knew I found a perfect place
To this day I still reside here
The sun beamed down
While the shade continued to play hide & seek
The moment I walked outside
Just to get a real feel of my environment
I noticed butterflies
As innocent as a newborn child
I followed them into the back yard
Came accross the big oak tree
While remembering....
Long ago a chapel stood here
That explains this feeling of an angelic presence
I began to carve my name into the tree
Making it very clear that I currently live here
It seemed as if Nature was going to stay for an eternity
I glanced up at the sky
The clouds were turning into all sorts of shapes
While heading back into my cozy home
Scuffling my feet along the well cut grass
I felt as if I was absorbed into the scenery
I opened the front door
Headed towards the kitchen
The scent of cookies wandered around the house
I paced my way in
Snagging a cookie
While flipping through my scrap book collection
I always cluttered up the tables with those
They were filled with neverending memories
Times with friends
Times with relatives
Times of complete sorrow
Times of Joy
I got lost in a Nostalgic moment
I was pleased to live inside my escape
I could never imagine being anywhere else but here
As the sun began to set
I finished up in the kitchen
Headed upstairs
Entered my room
Said my prayers
Before slipping into bed
I felt secure
I felt at ease
I felt many things that night
Every feeling was positive
Thanks to my home
I know what they mean
When they say
Home sweet home
This is my house of happiness
May it always stand
Even after my days here on Earth
Have ended
