I know staring at the phone
doesn’t make it ring.
I just wish that it would.
To hear your voice
tell me it is all a dream
More like a nightmare.
My friends pat my shoulder
and give me a hug.
Thanks for the support.
I also know they are thinking
“Give him a day or so
it will get better.”
When?

the first two lines of this really caught my attention.
and the when. at the end.
is such a painful question.
when i read poems i kind of hear them being read out loud in my head. and that "when" was read as if it was painful and difficult to say, it was a broken word, as if it got lodged in somebodys throat and never fully made it out.
this is so simple, yet it says it all.

I have so felt like that before. You like stare at the phone to make sure you don't miss the call, cause you wanna hear that persons voice so very much. And that feeling still hasn't changed for me. But yea, anyways, I thought this was very excellent.
I just love the way you write.

this is an excellent piece
I know staring at the phone
doesn’t make it ring.
you got me with this line...it's like the feeling of everybody's calling you except for that one person, you really want to hear...over the phone.
this one moves me

Truth in writing
This is an amazing piece for me at this moment when I've lost the one I love and everyone else still has him. If only we could give everyone a small piece of our pain and take a sampling of theirs. Compassion would no longer be an emotion but a bond between those that touch each others lives. Nice writing.

A day or so...

This is so errie and haunting. So scary. I know the feeling though. To stare at your phone thinking GOD PLEASE CALL ME! PLEASE TEXT ME!! PLEASE! and they never do. and you know they never will, but still you keep glancing at your phone. Thanks for taking the time to enter.
ing alone,
