In the red--
assets
insufficient
for justice’s
demands.
Pride’s flame
igniting anger’s amber sap,
outbursts scorching
tender hearts
drawn near
for warmth.
Oh, God,
I lose all
to find naught Thine
in my cankered soul!
“Unclean!” I cry,
beseeching from afar.
Royal purple pauses;
Mercy’s sapphire sky
reaches,
draws my deficit
into white’s wholeness
as I clasp
His hand.

Excellent take on the prompt! His Mercy and grace fills in the cracks of our "deficit". We're better off than in the black, we're in the white of his purity! We're clean!
Christ paid the mortgage on our "shack", His carpentry skills transformed our shacks into lovely homes, and he furnished them with love, wisdom and abiding peace.
