another broken fairy story
lost its luster and glory
dreams only to fade away
colors faded to gray
another shattered fairy tale
its flavor gone terribly stale
hope cried its last tear
memories quietly disappear
another make believe
its death I grieve
last tear shed
its end I dread
another happy ending
so far from mending
this chapter I close
a new book to open, I suppose
no fairy tale
no princess
no pretend
no happy ending

there is a silver lining, never fear
for with change comes sadness
but when it's all over nothing but gladness.
I know for I have been at that place
many, many tears ran down my face
but once I stood from down below
a smile was what I could finally show.
