Aspirations of A Servant!

I walk the line of greatness
within the Halls of Fame

Taking nothing for granted
for I know from whence I came

My name is Barack Obama
they say my time is now

I hear the ancients calling
"keep your hands to the plow."

The echoes of eternity
beckons me to go forth

to take up the mantle of
responsibility for which
I'm willing to pay the cost

Vision guides me toward
a destined shore

I lift my hands to heaven
asking God for just alittle more

that I my lead a people that
fate has entrusted at my door

With eyes upon the hills
whence cometh my health

I take the steps of courage
and daily deny myself

so I could be the person that
God meant me to be

in a time such as this
to give Him praise and glory

The journey has just begun
so I pray my faith be strong

Tho the road be fraught with
struggles I vow to go on

My mentors had a dream of
which I can't deny

Their spirits keep my eyes
on the prize

Together we will make it
for we've already overcome

Now it's time to enter
into the promise land

flowing with milk and honey
where we all can have a hand

Author notes

My Hero is President Elect, Barack Obama
this poem is dedicated to Him.
I congradulate him on a tremendous victory
and pray his strength and success.

    Great Job!

This is a man I believe that was born to do great things and change the world with his vision. It will take time but as Barack said, "it will take time and may not happen in one term but it be done together, we as a people can do it". I believe in him and I think your poem speaks warmly about the man, his dreams and how he will change history. Avril

Please ignore the previous comment -- as President-Elect Obama has said more than once, nobody is pro-abortion, NOBODY! What our next president wants is for us to come up with solutions that make abortion totally unnecessary, like help for poor and sick women, better and easier contraception, and general improvements in health care in general, in particular for children! This is a wonderful tribute to our President-Elect and also a well-written prayer for his successful leadership of a country that is so divided over so many issues. Bless you for writing!

I am a combat veteran in the bloodiest sense of the word. I learned to hate this country a long, long time ago.

    I voted for him.

Your flags offend me. I hate this country. It is the killer of all things good. Perhaps this will change. But history will not.

    Perhaps America will live again.

I am not a syncophant and will say here what I believe. And I don't care whether you like it or not.

I do not congratulate him. I voted for him. I stopped doing that when they made a the bum bush president who did not win the popular vote and who stole the electoral vote ... America died on that day for me. It was already dying.

for too long our country has been run by the worst of the worst ...

can he do this thing? is he a real or just another glorious lying scumbag ///

I shall wait and see. I voted for him. I have heard others say lies that sounded as grand as these. I shall wait and see. I shall wait and see. There have been too many lies. Too many ... I voted for him ... i never do that ... so, perhaps something inme says, this is not just another liar with excuses of the need to moderate for the sake of mediocre returns. If he is just another liar, I will be surprised, and if he is telling the truth, I will be less surprised ... if he can change anythiing in this dead, god forsaken Amerika, ... I will love him, too.

we shall see we shall see

AS for right now, I am beyond caring for this stinkpit called America anymore. i believe it is dead. my heart is dead for this place.

yet he begins to perk in me something new ...

god's speed Barack Obama!!! ... yer gonna need it

      My friend..

Moqui Takoda I love eveything you
had to say on this subject.
I too feel your pain and deep sense
of frustration and betrayal at a
country covered in the dung of hatred
      bias and bigotry.
Many will read your words and misinturpet
      them as hate mongering.
I respectfully disagree because I can
feel your heart. It yearns for truth
and righteousness to slay the wicked
      bloodsucking motherfuckers who've made
this world a toilet bowl full of shit.
My faith in God or the one I call creator
helps me to look beyond what I can see
and to believe in the power of love and
the human spirit that the creator gave us.
Evil and wickedness can never prevail.
      Rigtheousness and justice is personafied
in love. Keep watching my brother because
there is change in the wind.
In the words of Barack Obama "Yes we can!"
I LOVE YOU AND BID YOU GODSPEED AND
      ETERNAL BLESSINGS.

You honor me. I am Apache and I have to reel it out sometimes. Anyone who thinks I am a hate monger has not read my words, but only their own blindness to opposing yet complimentary view points. My words are the ones that Obama feels in his heart, I know.

I voted for him because I love him and fear for him.
