A Spiritual Life

In the midst of this mess
Being and Nothing gave birth to one another.

Living into and out of biblical text
Reaching inside to touch pure potentiality
Of being
Lift up the moments that contradict
the ways the world says no to life.
Living a life not removed from the ordinary,
In everyday contexts and circumstances
We find ourselves in
The place of doubt,
Brokenness,
Failure,
Sickness,
Vulnerability
And
Powerlessness
- being human -
We found ourselves in
Being alive and
Being about life as a living.

- The emptiness fills the hole
To explore a new reality –

We found the spiritual life.

"In the midst of this mess
Being and Nothing gave birth to one another."

    a truly wonderful début !
the curtain could almost close after these lines of wisdom, and the speechless spectators would rise for standing ovation, after having gathered their short-circuited senses again ...

the line about "Living a life not removed from the ordinary," reminded me of a famous zen-quote that goes : "first the mountain is a mountain, then the mountain is no more a mountain, finally the mountain is a mountain again."
my own experience on the spiritual path very much confirms these simple words of truth ... after the "honeymoon" is over, we return to the "ordinary", yet now it has lost its bitter taste and has become nectar ...

"- The emptiness fills the hole
To explore a new reality –"

a perfect ending to this beautiful tribute to the spiritual life ...
    thank you,
    maa

I have always loved the name Rachel. My name is Benjamin. Living in and out of Biblical text, yes?
    I have written on contradiction...

And nothing in life happens until it has become a dream, a fantasy to be pursued...
