Unknown

Unknown the heart standing there
Stripped of hide, scraped near bare
Only life has raised her hair
Gentle soul she be
Unknown the soul worn away
Alone she cried, rued the day
Only he heard her say
Quiet soul she be
Unknown spirit climbing high
God is, she sighs, I can't deny
Only men held her down
Gentle soul she be
Unknown woman sits before
Singed of pride, knows the score
Only words, but much more
Gentle soul she be
