Break Dancing Verses The Fox Trot Texan Tall Tales

Missing image
Hey there Pa git yourself over here,
you just gotta see this .
There is a bunch of kids flipping around ,
and making their bodies all in a twist .
Paw came over and as he took a gander ,
there it was so weird.
He replied we use to give our dogs worm medicine,
when they acted like that  once a year.

Ma stood there and she couldn't believe her eyes,
those kids would spin around even atop their heads that's right .
Grabbing themselves seductively ma screamed she couldn't believe,
those nasty boys out there pa they are embarrassing me .

Pa got back up and stepped outside then to his surprise,
a few of the young ladies scantly dressed lite up pa's eyes .
He moved a little closer and well ma became very mad,
she burst out the door screaming you kids stop that, that is so bad .

Oh the kids all stopped and stared for a moment yet it wasn't long,
and all those kids jacked up that there music and carried on.
Pa was holding ma back telling her but ma it's their time ,
don't you remember how our parents reacted when we had our own slide .

He grabbed grandma by the waist and slung her around,
over his shoulder she went and the between his legs on the ground.
All those young kids froze in place they couldn't believe their eyes,
to see two old whippersnappers so dapper in time.

Hey there pa that's pretty rad could you show us how ,that's not bad.
Pa let go of ma and grabbed hold of a pretty young thing,
the the music cranked back up and a young boy grabbed ma indeed.
Oh my ma replied as he followed her lead and tried to keep an eye on pa but she couldn't see.
All of a sudden the whole crowd joined in,
and ma and pa was back together by then.

The law came rolling by lights blinking and sirens on,
they jumped out of the car and told those young kids they best leave this old couple alone .
Old couple ma replied well the nerve ,
and she grabbed that there policeman and told him observe.

What a night that was and the kids all cheered ,
to see an old woman and her geazer get it in gear.
We might be old pa said, but we ain't dead,
and he ruffled the hair on top one of those boys heads.

Ma and pa went back inside for they were there just to visit you see,
they had never seen the young kids from the city but now they are pleased.
To see them excercising together and having such fun in such a way ,
kinda made ma and pa remember back in their own young days .

    This is zannygirl!

oh stop this is great but where do i fit in am i one of those slinky pyt (pretty young thing) or am i the ma. i am sure i am closer to ma. lol the closer you get the better it looks we need to let our young people get close to us to really find out that we were just as hip once as they are now and in the process it is good to see how wonderful young people can be thanks for the poem.

    Great story ...

It had an innocence and stature and serene glow about it. It is good that you write poems such as this. I felt like spring water in my hair, or a breath of fresh air.

    Peace to you dear heart.

I am going to let my lady read it so she can give you a review as well.

This is great. It's been a while since I've read a poem of yours, so it's high time I found my way back. Like how the older people were able to change their perspective and accept that while they might not agree with everything the younger generation is doing, they can take the time to listen and get along. It's teaching lessons like openmindedness through example that will help teach the younger generation how to behave, and how to grow up to be responsible people who contribute to society.

Really cute and fun write. I was initially expecting ma and pa to start chewing those kids out for dancing all crazy but the turnaround with showing them up with the good old stuff was great. I can just picture it all right there and it's quite a sight indeed. I can even see the very confused look on the policeman's face and it sure is funny.

Different from what I was expecting. But then you tend to do that my friend. I have my dancing shoes on all the time. My kids think I'm crazy, but I can keep up with them. Music has always been a part of my heart! Keeps us all young! ~Sie

Break dancing is painful, but fun. I'm actually pretty good at it. Although the other dance, I think its the "Fox Trot" sounds interesting.
