Dear Diary...Random Thoughts In Paradise

Day One

this is where it all begins
or maybe it's the end; who knows
...only time will tell

Day Two

azure waters extend
as far as the eye can see
in this uncharted hideaway
wrapped in solitude

a haven, caressed by the sound
of beating gulls' wings as
they wheel and dip while
breakers wash upon the shore

Day Three

each day begins, just like
the one that went before
with "Good morning, darling"
whispered through a kiss as
we lay in each other's arms
beneath a silken marquee of ruby hue
and watch the sun rise to
cast its warmth over golden sand
with a gentle lover's touch

Day Four

sometimes I pray that we could
stay here forever; alone, in
a world filled with moments of
exquisite intimacy as we explore
emerald rainforest trails or
stroll hand in hand beneath
the canopy of a thousand stars

moments when passion glides across
our skin like the champagne bubbles
that tantalise as we sip and watch
day melt into black velvet skies

oh, those wonder-filled nights
tangled limbs and gasping breath
kisses drowned within sighs that
whisper of love and desire

Day Five

hmmm, something tickles; ahhh, it's
your lips brushing against mine

"Good morning, darling. Did you have
sweet dreams?"

and I smile a secret smile, as I snuggle
deeper into the warmth of your arms

Author notes

Prompt:- Ok, in celebration of my 51st birthday, which is the 5th of November, I'm holding a contest, and the premise is; you are somehow stranded on a remote tropical Island with ONE other person. Now, this person can be a spouse, lover, friend, AP poet, whomever…just make it exciting and poetic.

In case it wasn't obvious, I was stranded with my Lover...even if it was only in my dreams.

The three items I chose were:-

A blank, leather bound diary (with pen and ink of course)...where else would I record my romantic musings?

A Case of champagne...what else would I drink? You didn't list Tequila as an option!

100 yards of fine red silk...because; well, because it would be so soft and silky billowing in the evening breeze as it blew in across the sand.

      Thank you Gaylene

There are some beautiful poems in Michael's contest but I thought I might add my own musings to them. You never know what might happen.
