The warm blanket of sleep slips from my body
The cool night air whispers over my skin
I wish I could fall back into the dreams,
Back into the realm where I always win.
I had a wonderful dream of you last night
It made me forget that you weren't there
I reached out through the darkness and pain
Only to find that life is unfair.
I forgot that you left, so many nights ago
I forgot that I can't reach you, try as I might
My only wish is to see your dancing eyes once more
But I'm without dreams, lost in the black of night.
I see you in my dreams every night since then
I come to love the feeling of slipping into a dream
I crave the time when I see you again
I've even forgotten what living really means.
In my dreams you're not an angel; you're still alive
The accident never happened, you're still here
I see you, I feel you, your sweet scent is strong
But when I wake up, there's just the inescapable fear.
