Inside out and outside in,
where does this end
and where did it begin?
The world flinched back
as I came alive,
everybody crumbled,
when I started to thrive.
Laughing as the world felt pain,
the one time I smiled,
it was all in vain;
telling this joke
to faces of stone,
never stopped to notice,
I was all alone.
Falling back into my fear,
the world rose up
and began to cheer;
the switch complete,
they’d been set free,
but what did all this
mean for me?
Curled in a ball, I feel no joy,
can’t help but wonder,
was it all a ploy?
To return me back
where I hated most,
silent in the corner,
an unseen ghost.

I can SOOO relate to all that you've said here, it's almost as if I wrote these words myself. Love the rhyme scheme.

Many, many thanks. It can be very odd, or at least very miserable always feeling off-kilter with the rest of the world...as you turn way, the world turns another.
Well, fuckem....at least it gaurantees uniqueness.
