Kneel before the infant child,
Holy One, so meek and mild,
In my heart I sing your praise,
I want to worship you always,
And tell your wondrous story
Until you come again in glory.
Shepherds and kings searched for you,
Guided by the brightest star.
You came down from heaven,
Born to be our Saviour,
By your wounds we are made whole,
You carried our sins upon your shoulder.

Strait out of Isaiah...

Yes, the last 2 lines are based on Isaiah 53:5-6 - the true message of salvation! Thanks be to God for allowing His Son to take the punishment that we deserved.

Thank you for your comment - it's a good idea to bring back past poems and revise them for future contests. Although not written as a child, I started writing poetry when my children were young and writing is still enjoyable a decade later!
