I've laid the past to rest,
I won't cry for yesterday,
my friend now gone forever,
I could not accept him in his way.
He moved on to another land,
a friend no longer near,
the one that was for me
is the person I most fear.
As far away as we can be
is the best way for us to heal,
I wasn't able to see clearly,
I'm confused about how I feel.
I say goodbye to yesterday
and hold on for many tomorrows,
I watch for what the day will bring
and hide from any past sorrows.
Author notes
It's always hard to say goodbye to a friend. When I came to know more about him I knew that it would be better for us both if we didn't see each other ever again.

very good i do have a pet peeve and that pet peeve is when people dont capitalize each line on the stanza well good luck in the contest
