Legend

(A Quadruple Etheree)

Mist
circling,
drifting on
soft curtain’s veil,
icy cold winds breath
kisses leaves with frost of
winter snow by mirrored lake;
where ancient legends portal lost,
finds some peace within the silent fog;
Sweet, sweet Avalon of Arthur’s resting
Glastonbury’s fast in hand with her;
rising from the deep at midnight
ghostlike oars cutting waves
in twilights moon bathed,
silent gliding barge;
ghostly shadow,
Morgana
In the
mist

mist
veiling
soft cruel lips;
darkness daughter
ice cold star of evening
scintillating, sapphire eyes
white silk, ripples on palest skin
raven black hair like laces in the wind;
Staring, deep down in to my wretched soul
she holds out her ice white hand to me
dripping diamonds into black lake;
too still, my heart so entombed
by one who calls to my
fear ravaged soul;
captured, I am
taken, by
swirling
mist

Okay, I've had a go at fixing the form. Does it work better?

  • I wonder if you have ever heard of Brian Froud? He painted a picture that might have gone very well with this poem... let me see If I can find a link, http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a268/majar1/fantasy/?action=view¤t=al_Froud06_Morgana_Le_Fay.jpg
    That picture is from the book good faeries/bad faeries and the description he gives along with this picture is quite fitting to your poem. The picture btw is Morgana, Authurs half sister as it happens. Speaking of your poem, as this is a comment for that, I love this form. I think you have written this really well. I love the topic and everything about how you have written it ^_^
    thank you for entering, sorryI rambled a lot

      Thank you so much for the lovely green cup! I'm really glad you liked the poem because I entered it because it had the lovely name Morgana in it and you're the only Morgana I've seen on here. So I thought it a nice tribute! I have enjoyed reading some of your work and will return to read more. Thanks again

    The form is as fascinating as the subject.

    You really did a fantastic job with this. Each verse seemed to build to a climax, then let me down slowly, right back where I started, drifting in the mist. Very well done.

      Thank you sweets, I'm so glad you like it. I'm going to revise the form a bit more as it should be like a diamond shape, but it may take a bit of time.
