Today November 5, 2008
The American people awoke to the death of their nation.
It suffered from the lack of education,
Awareness, understanding, selflessness and morals.
It failed to understand the great gift that its' Father had given it.
The cause of death was too many looking for a free hand out
And the lack of self responsibility.
Officially called "it's all about me disease"
This nation was preceded in death by morals,
values, compassion, self esteem and ambition.
Services will be held Jan 20, 2009.
This nation is survived by Barack Obama.

please review the requirements: 20 line minimum ... also, the subject matter is way off , this is not a metaphore contest about death of values but about actual thoughts of grievers for dead loved ones, neighbors, etc or the thoughts of the those in the coffins themselves, but that is my own interpretation, ... the line minimum is the major problem this poem has ...

If people think Obama is going to change anything, they are fooling themselves. He's a politician, and he's going to do what all politicians do- stuff his pockets full of money, while pandering to those who can afford his services. If any good comes out of the presidency of Obama, it is the fact that now minorities can no longer use that tired old "whitey be keepin us down" excuse, an now have to be accountable for themselves. no more white guilt bull-crap.

This is a powerful write and I know I pretty much feel the same way. Our Country has survived so much but with God personally on our side we shall survive but for the rest of the Country it is a scary thing I do believe as you do. Excellent poem on the death of our Countries morals, values, compassions, self esteem and ambition plus pushing off our founding Father's of this being a Christian Godly Country. Thank you for sharing and your boldness is much to be admired on this subject.

The USA is a great nation, it surviv4d many calamities - it survived Bush. Obama is yet to be put to test. Even if he fails to deliver the Americans will survive, don't worry. It is too early to write off Obama.

sadly not enough poeople have the balls to say such a thing.The truth is we let a far left media indoctrinate us and the future payments shall be great. It is funny but I have ask so many that anointed him as their new Christ if they ever read even one of his books. They looked at me like I was making it up. The death of a nation Indeed. My reaction to Artis and his Obituary for Bush, Cheney, McCain and Palin is posted underneath his heinous screed, but with your permission I'd like to reprint it here:
Let's see... Obama camp pledges to campaign using only public financing until it proves inconvenient, then funnels $832,000 into the prison-bound crooks of ACORN, then removes all security measures from their online donation mechanism, accepts gazillions of dollars in increments under $200 with intentionally falsified names (since names on "small amounts" weren't required anyway) all the while not receiving ANY critical coverage by the Socialist press.
That's like me cruising in a Hummer, pulling up behind your Volkswagen, firing a few 9 mm rounds at your tires, racing along side and body-slamming your car into the guard rail, having the police detain YOU for causing an accident and then bragging that I made it to work first. Whoopdee doo. When considering that sort of handicap and knowing McCain was only 7,000,000 votes behind out of 120,000,000 cast ... that's like the aforementioned scenario and only beating you to work by a minute.
Palin was the best thing to happen to American politics since fried brontosaurus eggs. She caused the Republican convention to go from eulogy to electric. I was a Republican voting Libertarian this year until I heard about McCain's pick. Palin absolutely rocks my planet and has my vote in 2012 if we still have electricity and indoor plumbing.
