Eternal Echo burning bright,
Resounding with a gracious light.
Sounds of heart, sounds of truth.
His word is given as my proof.
I can’t stay down too long;
It’s just not where I belong.
I can stop, I can drop,
Then my Lord helps me up.
All that You are is all I am.
By Your love for me, You make me a man.
When my days are done and through,
You’ll be all I see,
I will always be with You;
To know You as You’ve known me.
Eternal Echo comes to me,
Reaffirming what I see.
He lifts my heart, with my head,
Brings me out of carnal dread.
“You won’t stay down too long;

This is a wonderful praise poem. I am especially taken with the way you have reversed the perspective of the last two stanzas--creatively done. The phrase and theme (Eternal Echo) is a stunning description of His Passion and gift. Very much enjoyed your writing here.

The change in perspective often happens in what I write, and without my planning. Much of the time I get the first few lines, and then Someone else takes over.
