I look to you,
You turn away
Trudging back to your car
Snow billowing around me
Tears fall to the ground
Frozen where they lay
My cries die in the wind
Silence envelops me
Starting your car,
You glance out the window
Staring at me with the icy blue eyes
Knowing how much you hurt me
It kills me to watch you go
And do nothing to stop you
No matter what I say
I can't change your mind
Rooted in the spot,
I lay down in the snow
And wait for your return
Hoping you'll come.
