words, felt tremors
throughout a body
chilled
ramrod straight he sat
while regret seeped sadness
deep within
hollow
inference by others
severed ties,
shattered dreams
broken
reality crossed lines,
blurred visions of hope
once nestled in hands
safe
alone with thoughts
he watched time pass
eternal
