A Puppy! A Puppy!

"I heard it with my own ears,"
says Jake, with great excitement,
"Malia and Sasha, those little dears,
a puppy in the White House, what an event!"

"He said it, he said it," continued Jake,
there in the big park, that I knew from our vacation,
I watched him on TV for I was wide awake,
that guy whose face is pasted on Grandma's door, a sensation."

Good thing he is my "grandpuppy"
and just comes to visit. But I have
      influenced his political views!!!!

    Dear M-C (Cleo),

I have an AP friend who has a clever doggy too.
His name is Beaugus and he eats all sorts of stinky-poo.
Dead fish when walking on the beach or droppings left by moose.
He'll eat just about anything whenever he's turned loose.

My friend gets mightily concerned about the things he eats
and tries to curb his appetite with ample turkey treats
but still he gobbles everything he finds within his reach
and I think he got a medal once for cleaning up the beach.

This puppy that's been promised to Obama and his kids
could well be the solution to your economic skids
for if, like Beaugus, he'll eat anything and never mind,
perhaps he'll clean up all the crap that Bush has left behind.

As USA's "First Dog" he may provide a welcome break
if, when advice is needed, he consults with M-C's Jake.

Applause, love and hugs XXX M-A.

Hmmmmm,,,,a puppy who cleans up after himself!

Thank you, Hugh, for creating the entertaining tale,
especially the reference to cleaning up on a grand scale
what these eight years have left behind...hmmmm...a yard sale?

Nice of you to stop in, Hugh,

      M-C

I'm thinking you typed it. Puppy paws are not good on the keyboard. For if he'd typed this, it might look like this:

    vhtbbtht656 6y6by6y6666666yyyyyyyyyyyyn g66

At least that is how my dog Bosco used to type.

Do the Obama's have a dog, or is Jake humbly petitioning to be adopted, to become the "First Dog." Oh wait, that's Bush...no wait, Bush is a lame duck.

It's a very nice poem Jake, but beg as much as you like, M-C's family isn't giving you to the President elect and his family so get used to being just one of us common folk.

While you were sleeping, the Grant Park message to the world,
told the girls their reward was to get a puppy, and to take it
with them to the White House. Heard on news, to adopt one
      from a rescue shelter.

Jake would never leave! He loves his family too much!

Right, paws-challenged, he dictated over the phone to me,
      enhanced by speaker phone.

Right, just the right demeanor, calm, collected.
yet inspirational, as we have come to expect.

And some heart, the puppy promise!

What a cute poem. Jake may be a better poet than he realizes. It sure made me smile I had a dog named Jake many years ago. Um... big difference, though... my Jake was a black labrador, with a gentle heart. Can you imagine your Jake and mine side by side... Lol

Thanks for a fun read first thing this morning

Jake has a way about him---can always bring a smile.

So he doesn't go into a tizzy of circling around the livingroom,
my daughter and family have to whisper to each other about
"going to grandma's house" until they are almost ready to leave!!

It's nice that our Jake reminded you of yours!

Nice of you to stop in...

I was busy in photobucket making some
      welcome graphics for Betty friend,
