While the World Watches





In the dark of night,
under media spotlight,

the man speaks triumphantly,
praises his opponent gallantly

but with the tone of humility
of reuniting all in civility.






In the open air of Grant Park,
he lights the giant spark,

igniting the air from satellite to satellite,
sending  his image to worldwide sight,

bringing  hope with the flair of drama,
as could only one named Barack Obama.

One would have to have "Moxie"
to unite all those varied hues,
to lead with conviction, not by proxy,
to fulfill the promises, having paid the dues.

Note: the term "moxie," meaning
bold, with vigor, was adapted from
the name of the soft drink, Moxie.

    Well, I'll package up a crate of the elixir and send it to the White House, that darn Bush better not drink it! Though if he did, he'd probably fix all the mess he made and we'd all love him so much we'd call for a new election so that he could have a third term!
