The Storm.

Missing image

I’ll be honest with you, kid:

   As you grow older,
      The rain only pours harder,

So if your umbrella ain’t strong enough
      To handle these showers,

You should invest in a raincoat
Before the cats and dogs come.

I like this. It's simple in language and yet, quite a complex underlining meaning. I definately agree with you and have found this whilst growing older. We need a little more emotional stability deep down and need something to hold us up

    perfect poetry in my opinion.
short, sweet, and to the point.
and it made me smile and shake my head at the same time.

    good job!

True talent lies in being able to say it all with only few aptly muttered words... in your case.. you've typed them out...!!
    Lovely!!!
    hard lesson... easily taught...

Okay. I love this background more than the other one! hehee. The other was really great but this one! WOW! Haha. Where do you find all of your backgrounds Kyle? You are incredible when it comes to things like these. Since I've already rated this poem before. I cannot give you more clappies, but here's something for the backgrounds. Hehehe. . Well done!

Very philosophical; this is the type of item that I think people would buy on wall hangings - you know like those wee frames or what not, with 'wisdom' words written upon them? I really liked this and yup, it made sense to me - in more ways than one.

Sure, you could take the first meaning - of it literally being about the rain, but the meaning of it being about strong enough for life appeals to me more. Great job Kylester!

Haha, I have half a mind to print it out and stick it on my lounge room wall now
It does have a bit of that feel doesn't it..
=) I'm glad the meaning is clear, thanks for the lovely comment
