I had ask when she would be home.
She said she worked till noon and at one would be fine.
The flowers were waiting when she came home.
She grabbed a fast shower and let things go.
I called at one and there she was in a towel.
We talked for a couple of hours or so.
Parting was our hardest thing.
Six months after exchanging wedding rings.
I felt as if I knew her forever.
She said I stuck to her like glue.
Happy together we were and we knew.
Not much longer and I be back home.
I can just see her on the couch a sleeping today.
I said pretend I am with you for the day.
Finally we hung up the phones.
I felt as content as if I had been home.
Military wives are special I know.
They try and keep thing going just so.
We all know ours are the best.
Some of the ladies here say their guy is the best.

Such a wonderful bond doesn't happen very often, least you don't see it so it's normally in the films. So savour it.

Being in the military way back in time(though not married at the time) i saw, so know how parting affected some.I think you have done a great job of putting over their feelings Well done Good luck in the contest
May just like to check a couple of typos
line 9 here/her
line 15 finall the Y missing
minor points that do not effect a fine poem
