The light flickers and twirls,
as the haze slowly clears.
The parrots around the lake,
are louder to my ears.
The new morning's music,
comes floating through the air.
While crystal waters sparkle,
soaking in the glare.
The possums in the trees,
are tucked up and asleep.
Under the bright Aussie sun,
how the weeping willows weep.
Later on there'll be a line in,
we'll try and catch a fish.
Have a cold beer and a snag,
you can't get better than this.
Let the dog go for a run,
he wont go too far.
He can't quite catch rabbits,
and he's too scared of cars.
Later i'll play a song,
about your gorgeous smile.
Then we can lie and watch the stars,
Maybe just for a little while.
The light flickers and twirls,
as the haze it slowly falls.
The parrots that were around the lake,
are hardly heard at all.
And the new evening's diamonds,
scatter the velvet sky.
While crystal waters sparkle,
and whisper their goodbye.
