Goldsmith

Fingertips see hidden lustre
under roughness and a film of dust;
the Master engrossed in his part
the Process is about to start

By purification and by planish
He tests the hidden heart;
slow alloy is passionately
surrendering to perfect Art

Soul's poetic pattern oh, so rich
by pointing has been done;
granulation leads to final glamour
which is outshone by none

At last she is graced His lovely Queen
after ecstatic quest -
splendid on a fine gold chain:
ten thousand years
against soft flesh

myra
