The truth of the matter
Is that there was never any truth
Lies were tied and hidden
Yet so close to the truth
Believable, yet harsh.
Chase your windmills
Fight for what you believe
I've realized the truth
Though it kills me so
I shouldn't have let you go
Yet we're both better off.
I've gotten through it
With the help from friends
Life is what I make it now
And the lies will not hold me back.

The truth opens your eyes to what's really there

The truth is that this poem is well written, and that's not a lie. Yes indeed well done and thanks for sharing.

I like it. The first two lines are my favorite.
Very simple, yet says a lot.
    Good write.
