For a sweet serenade
Smooth and soothing
Rough and moving
I pray that your heart will handle
My heart sent rocky serenade
‘Cuz it’s for you,
Brought forth from
The love inside my soul
Darkness spreads forth from ashes
From the flame that never burnt
Bright light flows forth from tongues
From the flame that was never lit
I do love you although
I lose my voice when I try to sing
[Instrumental section]
My rocky serenade
Is not enough to say
What I feel when I sing
About you and my fears
But I believe love is strong
And it will determine wrong
But my intent is pure
I must leave my fears and tears behind
[Instrumental section]
Lost in my thoughts
I grow and rot
Groan and mumble
Moan and rumble
[Bass/drum duet]
It has been a long night
It has been a good sight
It breaks my heart
But I must say goodbye
The night is young but
I grow weary eyed
My dear I hope you loved
My heart sent rock serenade
Author notes
This is the first piece where I wrote the music before the lyrics, so it's been pretty interesting.
Here's the link to the music, if you want to listen:

Because the lyrics are based off of the music, this is pretty new for me, so I'd really appreciate some critical views!
:Genre: Alternative rock
--Instruments--
Lead guitar (distorted)
Bass
Drums (Normal set)
Rhythm guitar (clean or acoustic)

Thank you! It's nice to hear such a positive response. And don't worry, I'm sure you'll find someone one day!

You have come up with more genius lyrics to go with some really intriguing music. It would be wonderful to hear them together, as every one else was stating! I truly enjoy reading your art and look forward one day to seeing it combined!

Thanks. I feel the same way.

I agree with everyone’s feedback, gotta match the words with not only music but, a voice that matches the agony and passion your lyrics portrays.
You’re a very talented lyric writer; your words reflects cadency and kindness.
It’s the sort of lyrics you’d want to hear over and over again, and can never get enough.
Very emotional piece, wish it could come to life.
Persue your dream to sing for the world to hear, you could touch so many people =)

Thanks, I would love to do that. I just wish more of my musician friends were into rock like I am, so I could get a friendly band together. (I'm not into the "fishing" technique, since there's no way to know what kind of musicians the other band members are if you don't already know them as friends or at least acquaintances.)
I even have a friend who's a composer and a violinist, which is awesome, but sometimes I want to tell him to pick up guitar.

Well, you are most professional with the instruments. Are you doing all the instruments? Very good!
I would love to hear you sing it, so that I can match the words with it.
As for the lyrics, they are good as well... just like the other one.
Need to truly hear the marriage of voice to the music to make an appraisal. Impressive... thank you!

Sorry if I mislead you, but the music on YouTube is based off of a MIDI file I generated with a music composition program. So no, I didn't play any of it. TT_TT;;
I don't have access to recording equipment, so that's the best I could do at the moment. I also can't play guitar chords well enough for that, although I might be able to do the bass and maybe even the lead guitar if I played it slowly and sped up the sound file to match up with the rest.
But I know what you mean about the singing and instruments put together. Heck, if I could record my music, I'd have sung the lyrics as well. I thought about editing the MIDI to have a voice, but I knew it would sound so fake that wouldn't be worth it.

i would love to be able to hear this as a song, great lyrics

Thanks. There's a YouTube link in the author's notes section that shows the instrumental, if you want to hear it.
Since it's all MIDI generated, there's no voice, but I hope you can follow along with the lyrics.
If I ever get a band together, I'd like to show all my readers the finished product. Until that happens though, you're stuck with instrumental music and lyrics. ;D -

FLUFFERS!
Another winner. Wish this comp would load the youtube so I could watch it. I'll find another comp later. -

You should! Since I wrote the music first, I'm certain listening to the music can help you understand the lyrics.
