Of Course

I've watched him for awhile now
Inside my head I always thought "how?"

I learned his name the other night
We danced, his hands set my heart alight

He said the sweetest things, made me laugh
My friends called him over on my behalf

Every time I saw him my cheeks would flame
I wished that these butterflies would be tame

I learned today the hardest news
My fragile heart has now sustained a purple bruise

My best friend is the apple of his eye
I now I find that I don't know how to cry

I know her feelings for him are as a friend
But his for her? I don't know where they begin or end

I wish that I could tell him. I think I love him
I see him and now I feel the tears start to brim

It's hard to watch him loving her in front of me
And I only wish I could look as I feel. I would be a beauty

    Heartfelt

You're right, you can't spell ;] But it's a very sad poem. I'v always been a fan of rhyming in poems and this one does a wonderful job at it. I'm sorry to hear about this boy. As the saying goes, "There's always more fish in the sea." You sound like an amazing person and just give it some time and you'll find an amazing guy. If your friend isn't interested, he'll move on. Maybe he'll even see what's been in front of him this whole time, you!

Nice write! Hope to read some more.

    Jason
