Grandad

Bandy legs,
Tracing up the garden steps,
Yelling at the foxes,
To steer clear of the garden patch.

Old boy,
Has whisky hidden in his cap,
Sits in the garden shed,
In frosty air whilst the birds tweet.

He likes,
His tartan trousers and newspaper,
Lunchtime shouting at the telly,
Mumbling nonsense to himself.

Author notes

This was actaully really different from what I write. This is a description of a grandad, some inspiration from my own and really the rest made up. Its quite different I guess, i didnt want to post it because i dont really clasify it as a poem but i thought it was a good description.....

A lot of poems are nothing but good descriptions, and I think you did a really good job on this one. IMAGERY is very important in poetry, and you showed you can pull it off (and pull it off well) right here.

I like the whole description, his bandy legs etc. In one way you could add to it by describing a moment of his life but anyway it's quite good just as it is.

This is actually very different than what I've glanced at so far. I like the free thought. As for it not being poetry, poetry is anything you make it. Its the art of speech.

This is what we call prose. And it's pretty. I like it. Imagery is one of my favorite things ^.^ Good job.
