Shuttered Memories

silence echoes
beneath the croak
of a frog

where the wind
blows dark
at a distant dog

and midnight cradles
loneliness, as moments hide
within memories

FINALLY. This is perfect. Absolutely perfect.

I really like how the silence is "beneath" the echo of the croak. Such a great stanza.

Really, all of this is just... wow.

    Nice work.

    Beautiful work!

So vivid and precise recreating memories ... You have such a flair to write your exact feelings!

    Some suggestions:

    silence echoes
    the croak of a frog

    where a distant dog
    barks
    at the howling wind

    and midnight cradles
    loneliness, as moments hide
    within memories

As I say, see it as a suggested version.

Your poetry is RICH and meaningful. What a gift you have.
    Love
    Myra

Ps. Good luck with your assessment!

You have aptly described the moment of truth when the industrial world is silenced and we are left alone to ponder. Well written. Peace, Liz

Magnificent poetry. The impact makes me stand in awe. It is amazing at times what a few lines of well chosen words can do to our mind. It makes me wonder what beautiful things we could have done with it. The metaphors are stunning.
