November Sunrise

He is seen among the massive columns
in the early November sunrise
near common faces in the market,
standing on the escalator of reforms,
holding a torch as if to keep
the Great Lakes from freezing.

Certainly he stands for a change,
and not to lift a few pages
from socialism textbooks.
The man he would replace
has socialized the toxins
of the financial behemoths.

Without this change the world
will live under a monster
wearing Golden shoes
with bloody diamond spikes
crushing us under the feet.

Indeed indeed. For freedom, for emancipation, there must be sacrifice.
