Poem to Monika

We met 4 years ago, in a small un-romantic bar,
I noticed you noticing me, it really was bizzare.
I remember being so nervice to ask you your name,
but I worked up the courage all the same.

The first year went so fast, I hardly remember a thing,
but I knew from that first year this was no quick fling.
We got to know each other inside and out,
we knew this was love there was no doubt.

The second year was just as great we were all smiles,
because we knew we had survived the first year trials.
We did not think anything could pull us apart,
God had put us together and it was a work of art.

The third year I admit was a little more tough,
me being away for work was very rough.
There were fights and there were tears,
and losing you became one of my biggest fears.

But now we are in the fourth year and still going strong,
and my heart is still yours and to you will always belong.
I give you my life and my entire heart,
and from now on we will never be apart.
