I
when time has bent you
just so
the only thing to do is
lean into it
II
even the strongest
take natural disasters
to heart
like the time the lightning struck
and the tree crashed into the addition
and i thought the whole world was ending
and you climbed on top of me
to save me
what i felt most
at that moment in time
was the overwhelming need
to be broken
so that you could fix me
III
learning how to bend
so as not to break
is a lesson i still learn
the crashing in my mind
returns

interesting
I like this. It tells a story that is both in and out of your person and it makes you feel like you've been there (like i've been there). It is a great piece. Best of luck in the contest. ~
