The Gift

.
...
From nought,
like crystal flakes
of snow from frosty air
or UniVerse from vacant space,
the One Presence goes forth with tender Heart,
a gift from Self, given to Self...
a present not by rhyme
or reason bought...
from Nought
...
.

Author notes

"In this profound poverty of being nothing,
every something is a present."

  • Your poems pull at the sleeping soul to awaken... very uplifting, indeed.

    • Thanks friend. My writing mostly reflects my own awakening and truly is an effort to raise a light that might help others to see their own.

      Peace and blessings,

      Rahad

This is profoundly beautiful, visually as well as poetically. What an unusual form, I'd never heard of it. It brings forth all sorts of thought associations. I love the first and last lines I love the last three lines and the rhyme, effortless rhyme, of the last two spoken lines. The fact that you spell it "UniVerse" suggests to me God the poet. The Gift? To me the shape of the gift could be Saturn, a top ( how the Universe whirls!) , or a Christmas ornament. How fitting and how beautiful!!!!

All is a gift of the Creator

    "From Naught"
    "The Unmoved Mover"--Aristotle

"the One Presence... with tender Heart"
    "God is Love"--(St.) John

You may be the deepest thinker in AP. I am still trying to get my mind around this.

    excellent

This is a mystery revealed with beautiful imagery, "the One Presence goes forth with tender Heart", and though we recognize it, there is no "where" that it comes from. These are profound ideas, congratulations for silver.

      Thank you

From the No-thing, out of No-where comes the self expression of the Unnameable, the Unknowable, making known to Itself the infinite Awareness of Being. All we see, feel, understand is that gift of Self to Self, that One Word, "I (AM)", in its infinite possibilities....

      Be ever blessed and bright,

      Rahad

a perfect way to respond to the prompt ...
I can really capture the mirrored essence of it in your creative verse ...

I love the way you are using the poetry-form of the rictameter in order to underline your message ... the letters seem to be springing from naught and returning to it ... the UniVerse has seduced me as well ... in very few well selected words, you are telling the story of creation ... the symbol of the crystal flake is very appropriate for the crystallization of matter from spirit ...
an elegantly wise poem of graceful truth ...

    thank you so much,
    maa

This is a beautiful insight full poem.

I know this is form poetry. I can't remember what kind. You might include the form name and syllable count in your AN's. (crystal needs to respelt and universe) The thought in this is profound and well written. I am very happy to have stopped here and seen this piece.

Thanks, Dark Otter, for the comment, compliment and the editing. My spelling of UniVerse is intentional, signifying the One Word, the unified action of Consciousness or Awareness manifest as form. The other misspelling is just a resistance to using the spellchecker I'm glad the message touched you. I've used the form before and forgot the name (not being much of a form writer). I just thought it fit the suggestion of going from nothing to something then back to nothing. I'll try to look up the form name (the syllable count is 2,4,6,8,10,8,6,4,2) and put it in my note.

      Be ever blessed and bright,

      Rahad

      Thanks

Like Being form Non-being, like salt crystals from a super saturated solution, seeded by Awareness and Love.... from Nothing/Everything...

So beautifully worded, the play of the syllables, the rhymes that open and flower so lovingly, this is too a gift. What a lovely concept, of such a priceless thing that cannot be bought or sold, only given. Wondrous.
