Sadly the poppies grow best in disturbed soil, "what a price"
the war came with its menacing destructive powers
Lives were lost with evil invaders on alien lands
conscription was compulsive however, needed greatly
Brave men and women once girls and boys grew quickly
stolen youth taken away, in some cases forever
How do the perpetrators live with this monster?
for surely family displacement affects all,
In years we can all reminisce, we forgive, but forget not
at the end of a war a truce comes in and so do our memories

A nice piece filled with emotion. Hopefully we do not forget ever. Thanks for the fine entry. Hugs, Bunny
