My angel, my darling,
My only true friend.
The one that I'll love,
To my dying end.
I wish to show you,
I wish you to see.
The things that I picture,
That I hope will be.
I see your smile,
As I lift up your vale.
The sweetest beginning,
To my glorious tale.
I see you asleep,
On our first wedding night.
I see you breathe softly,
In the dim moonlight.
I see your eyes,
As they flutter awake.
And you glow like the sun,
As if the first was fake.
I see our first home,
in a quaint little town.
I see your delight,
As our baby comes down.
I see our young son,
Play in the long green grass.
I feel myself wishing,
The time wouldn't pass.
I see our boy grow,
And I see his young brother.
You look at me hoping,
That we'll have another.
I see us grow old,
In that same little town.
I see our grandchildren,
That never seem to frown.
I see you in heaven,
All clad in white.
Now I truly know,
What love feels like.
Author notes
This is how I hope my life turns out. It's only modest hopes, but what else could anyone ask for? Hope you see it the way I do.
