Purity

Smokers contaminate
my pure, pure air
with their cancer sticks
they ruin my air.

Breathe,
breathe in that
cool desert air!
Relief from cities
smog and smog
in my lungs
and out my lungs
back, back on the
smug East Coast.

The clean, crisp air
is quite a change
I can breathe!
I can, I can!
this pure desert air
until that
smoky, smoky smog
that putrid stench
comes infiltrating
my nose and lungs
clogging, clogging
my nose and lungs.

Why must they ruin
my sweet Arizona
my pure salvation
my living heaven?
Why can’t they all
just flock to Vegas
to smoke and smoke
and maybe gamble?

I want my air
as pure as me
so then a few
of them should stay
but stay far, far
away from me
for what I seek is Purity.
