Everyday She wakes up at the light of dawn
to realize her lover is not there
only a bottle of vodka lay in his space
comforted by the weep-ed on pillow...
Hot ash falls from her broken cigarette
falls on the floor next to the empty bottles of shame
Still her heart mourns next to her children's beds
not slept in just reminders of the smashed pictures by the door
her family died.
She sits by the TV with the curtains always drawn
drinking bottle by bottle to try and drown her aching pain
Her breathless heart wishes to be with them..
She shakes when she finally gets up the only light of day she sees is to sit by her family's graves,
The snow covers this holy place a place a widow and a mother mourns
She lays a pink teddy down by the stone
gives it a kiss
and gently lays down
opens bottle after bottle
swallows pill after pill
She lays their with snow falling on her freezing body
little breaths, weaken pulse
she wishes on the stars above
to be reunited with the ones she loves
she wants God to hear her crys and to forgive her for a life she cannot bear
Author notes
Don't drink and drive. I dedicate this to all the family's suffering a lost because of someones else stupidity

Wow, That was deep...
Quite speechless actually...
Firstly by the depth of raw emotion & realism so carefully laid in this sad & beautifully crafted piece...
And secondly, by how the narrative flows so seemlessly...
Well penned, well versed, well done!!!
