i looked for you in the sky
in clouds that held shapes, signs
something- god, anything
to tell me you were okay.
i worshipped the dreams i had
of you,
replayed them like they were
my only salvation.
but i was exposed, hungry
like a yellow-tinted shade of green
of a four-leaf clover that wasn’t lucky.
i was on nerves, unlaced;
a dress shattered, partied in and
cried in afterwards.
