Beneath the flashing strobe lights,
While bodies bump and grind,
I feel i have no rights,
To keep you in my mind.
As the rhythme fills me,
The sight of you makes me weak,
Yet when i can not see,
It is always you i seek.
The tricks you do while pouring,
That smile that makes me blush,
It all sends my poor heart souring,
This has to be more than a crush.
You smile and say to wait for you,
For your heart has just been hurt,
So as i stay and pay my due,
I'll continue to smile and flirt.
While bodies bump and grind,
I feel i have no rights,
To keep you in my mind.
As the rhythme fills me,
The sight of you makes me weak,
Yet when i can not see,
It is always you i seek.
The tricks you do while pouring,
That smile that makes me blush,
It all sends my poor heart souring,
This has to be more than a crush.
You smile and say to wait for you,
For your heart has just been hurt,
So as i stay and pay my due,
I'll continue to smile and flirt.
Author notes
This is a poem i wrote about a man who i am smitten with.
His name is Ben and he is a bartened at the club i go to, he is gorgeous and such a sweet heart. He just seperated from his fiance and so he wants me to wait for him and when i asked for his number he told me to wait because he's still sore.
So now i go there and smile and flirt with him while he smiles and flirts back and pulls me in more and more every passing club night.
