like the odd placing of your toothbrush
on a white sink, beside an opened tube
of toothpaste
the songs that keep running on and on
over and over again, stuck like gum to
a broken shoe
your voice beside my bed asking me to
get up.
if i had a lifetime of these mundane bits
and placed them upon a blue sky; i would
have run out of space.
and if later, i counted the same sky for
every time i woke up smiling or doubled up
sick and tired of worrying for you
someone would have called it love.
