N ever ending political debates and rallies;
O bsequious sound bites and flattering rhetoric cause
V itriolic accusations, rancor and distrust.
E ndless news anchorage and coverage of
M inutiae displace favored entertainment.
B ombastic diatribes on the country’s ills lead to
E ndemic postulations from Washingtonian bureaucrats.
R eceiving some recognition they elicit pre-vote confusion!

Author notes
I live in the city, in a building that will be a polling place. Now at least there will only be two more days of cars going up & down the avenue with speakers & loud music touting their candidate! The beginning of November can be a busy time of the year here.

Nice acrostic, best wishes.

Ooops.. I forgot to mention about the title of this. In the rules, I asked "Don't use the word 'November' in your title" . Sorry for not mentioning it when I first commented... my bad.

You have captured this November for sure, what a wacky time! You are a keen observer of the world around you...write on!

You hit the nail on the head. November is pounding us hard with all the election drama. This weekend I have had over 12 calls from "vote fore me". Give me a break? I am tired of the election already. So don't forget to vote everyone!!! lol
Your poem is very appropriate for the time at hand. No doubt about that.

Election time in the US. Can't turn on the TV without seeing it. It's everywhere! And I'm in Canada! You've summed it up nicely in this.. although, when it's finally over, the news will be all on the new president, the leaving one, and the complainers of the losing party.
Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest.

Good luck to you,
I am glad I am not in your shoes. Put some cottonwool [buds] in your ears!
I always wonder, in the place of mudddddd slinging, what will happen if the oppsition did some 'good speaking' about their candidate and even publically blessed them.
Although not on my doorstep, we are also heading towards our 'voting season' - March 2009 - there is already much 'word slinging', treats, etc.
Good to initiate a poem of this nature. Frans
