Piece by piece
ourselves disappear
until fully unlaced
from our pasts
and who we used to be
weaving strings of laughter and tears
intricate patterns of love and life
a single new being
is knitted together
Author notes
36 words total if I counted them correctly. I just wrote this while I was crocheting. So it just kind of flowed out from me. My first real happy poem that I've ever put up here. I like it.

Me likey too!
As good as any Theory I've ever seen. I'm very much into 'Science' but so much is based on speculative 'theory' that it can get very discouraging! I needed to see something cheerful this morn & this was it! Funny you wrote this while working with strings! Trust you'll do well in the Contest!

I'm glad that you liked my poem and that it made you smile. I have a heavy connection to why I wrote it, and so it means a lot to me that you liked it. Thank you very much!
