A beautiful house on a winter's day,
With snow flakes falling on the ground so white.
The house is lit with a golden light.
The curtains are closed the door is shut,
Safe and warm inside I remember my childhood.
Inside I play as a little child,
There is no fear,
No terrifying rape,
Just nice dreams
Childhood innocence,
A family that loves me for who I am
The way I wanted life to be.
A family loving with plenty of hugs,
A fireside warm with plenty of logs,
No time for alcohol or drugs
Running around with my brother
We happily play
I forget the night and the day.
I run around the house
On a winter's day
My childhood is good no shades of grey.
Happy memories
With no fear or tears
No school that brings the bullies to tease
No childhood rape
Or aiming to please.
I find Jesus much earlier than before
He saves the pain
He closes that door
He keeps me safe inside and out
The warm golden light
Inside of my soul
I thank the Lord for making me whole.
