The Peace Maker

I laughed once

remembering sciamachy nights
hours before you stopped by

The armor of that--
your heart

stilled rivers of amber reflections
flared glowing shades of distillation

And as I settled in the rays
of your shadow casting light

I forgot why I was angry
in the first place

Author notes

Written for a woman who always knew the right things to say or do, whenever I attempted to find a reason to break up. I was so afraid of love, that the calmness I felt freaked me out, and she showed me it was ok to love.

wow...the images in your poem are astounding. love can be scary when youve never experienced it. personally i can say I loved - but it never leaves me feeling complacent. thats good AND bad...when you arent ready to settle down I suppose.

    beautiful job.

This is nice although I'm going to have to look up the word sciamachy. That's definitely not in my vocab.
